Phillip Samouel (Kingston University)

Phillip Samouel was educated in the UK gaining a BA First Class Honours in Social Science and two masters, one in Economics and one in Management Science, from the London School of Economics and Imperial College respectively. His Doctorate in Business Administration was gained from Henley Management College/Brunel University in 1995 and most recently received an Honorary PhD from the Academy for the National Economy, Moscow.

His career spans 30 years both in academia and the commercial world. Between 1974 and 1984 he built Sammy George Fashion Ltd, a dress manufacturer in London with its own label - London Lady. Since 1984 he has been running a successful Farming Enterprise-Ladyland Farm.

At Kingston University, he has been Head of Department – Business Strategy and Operations (1995 – 1997). Director of the Business School (1997 – 1999). In 1999 - Dean of Faculty and a member of the University’s Executive.

Phillip Samouel is an active teacher and researcher focusing Business Economics and Multivariate Data Analysis. He was appointed to a personal chair – Professor in Business Economics in 1997. He also holds a Visiting Chair at Henley Management College.

He was also Statistical Advisor to the LGRU at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.

In 2003 he co-authored a text on "Business Research Methods". His research/consultancy interests are business relationships both within and between organisations and their impact on performance.
