Rudolf G. Pikhoia
Rudolf Pikhoia has chaired the Department of Russian State History at the Academy since 1997. Before joining the Academy, he served as the head of the Russian State Archive Service from 1990 to 1996. In 1996, he became the vice-president of “Democracy”, a Russian organization dedicated to unbiasedly documenting the Soviet Union. A graduate of Ural State University in Ekaterinburg, where he earned his doctorate in history and later served as deputy rector, Dr. Pikhoia has lectured at Cambridge University, Stanford University, Harvard University, as well as other leading educational institutions around the world.
